Services

Our services include:

  • Assistance Following Hospital Discharge – We will support individuals who have recently been discharged from the hospital and will need to recuperate after surgery. We can also help if you need some short term help until you are able to cope at home alone.
  • Befriending and Companionship – Helps to prevent isolation or loneliness.
  • Live-In Services – This service is for individuals who live alone, or who need help and support to promote and maintain their independence at home.
  • Night Sleep-In Service – Provides comfort and peace of mind for service users who feel safer and secure knowing that someone is there with them at home.
  • Palliative Care – This is for individuals whose illness may no longer be curable and who have now chosen to receive end-of-life care in the comfort of their home.
  • Personal Care – Includes bathing, continence-management, assisting with dressing, meal preparation, and prompting and assisting with medication. The length of visit can range from one hour or more.
  • Practical Support – Includes assistance with cleaning, shopping, laundry and prescription collection.
  • Respite Care – Will help and support carers who need relief from continually caring for their loved one.
  • Social Escorting – Involves being accompanied to cinemas, to the GP, pubs, shops, or just going out and about; enjoying the outdoors and the community.
  • Working Nights – Our staff will work throughout the night providing care and support.

Domiciliary Care

Our domiciliary care service users are people of differing needs and abilities. They may be unpaid family carers who may find the responsibilities to be overwhelming. We also support individuals in supported living housing schemes, sheltered accommodations and extra care schemes, or people in their own private homes who are:

  • Adults Over 18 Years Old
  • Elderly People (Over 65)
  • People Approaching End of Life
  • People with Learning Disabilities
  • People with Mental Health Problems
  • People with Physical Disabilities
  • People with Sensory Loss, Including Those with Dual Sensory Impairment

Training Services

Mandatory and Short Course Care Training Available

Kolours Healthcare can provide all the mandatory training short course care training you need to meet the Care Certificate to ensure continuous professional development.

CARE CERTIFICATE IN-HOUSE TRAINING

It is now mandatory that new staff must complete their Care Certificate qualification within the first 12 weeks of a entering the care industry. This qualification replaces the Common Induction Standards and National Minimum Training Standards.

To help make sure that staff are best prepared to complete their assessment we are now offering an comprehensive in-house training week, in which each of the 15 standards of care are covered in detail.

Outline of Programme:

The 15 Standards enshrined in the Care Certificate are covered over a period of 5 days, with a recap and assessment completed on the fifth day.

Assessment:

Training will cover 3-4 standards of care per day with a review of performance on the final day. Delegates will be expected to engage in a number of group activities and our experienced trainers will be on hand to help guide through these sessions.

Health & Safety Awareness

Overview

Employees responsibilities under The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Furthermore, under Health and Safety Legislation, employers are required to provide appropriate health and Safety training for themselves and/or their employees. This course will ensure that you and your employees comply with legislation and raise awareness of the need to provide a healthy, safe working environment ensuring the welfare of everyone.

Food Safety Awareness

Overview

This course is designed to provide individuals that handle open food the essential knowledge and understanding of good Food Safety Practice. The aim of this training course is to provide candidates with a fundamental knowledge of food hygiene and to enable them to apply this knowledge to essential practical skills in order to prevent food poisoning.

Staff should not be expected to be on duty.

The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed.

Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session.
